Melina used her looks on-screen to try and coax the Animal into helping MNM.

When Melina debuted on SmackDown in 2005, she was flanked by Joey Mercury and then-real-life boyfriend, Johnny Nitro.

Meeting the year prior when Nitro was on Tough Enough, the WWE showed rare restraint by not showcasing their relationship on TV, even though many fans know of the couple at the time.

However, a few months after their on-screen debut, Melina started a relationship with then-World Champion Batista, in a move that nearly ended her relationship to the future Johnny Impact.

The relationship did prove to be the end of Batista’s second marriage though, with the affair being turned into a very tasteless story on TV, where Melina would sleep with the Animal to help MNM retain their titles, and claimed that the future-Drax assaulted her after.

Fortunately, the story was quickly dropped, perhaps after the company realised showing turning actual cheating into a storyline wasn’t a good idea.
