Orton is back in his heel persona

Randy Orton’s character became stale after losing his WWE Championship to Jinder Mahal last year. He was showing up regularly but nothing that he was a part of really mattered that time.

Earlier this year, Orton became a Grandslam Champion by winning the US Championship but lost it less than two months after winning it.

Did you know a top WWE Superstar just wrestled outside the company? More details HERE

After Backlash, Orton took some time off to deal with a knee injury. Orton returned at Extreme Rules as a heel and attacked Jeff Hardy.

He continued his attack on Hardy the following weeks and explained his reasons that he didn’t think he was appreciated enough for all the hard work he had been putting for over 16 years and vowed to destroy every superstar who the fans will respect.

Orton isn’t currently booked for Summerslam but it’s likely that he would continue his feud with Jeff Hardy post-Summerslam as both of them are advertised to face each other at Hell in a Cell in September.

Orton works best as a heel and even fans take interest in him when he’s a heel. Orton’s current arc has been quite impressive and it remains to be seen how far he goes with it.

The possibility of some interesting story-lines with AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan are high.
