The 2019 WWE Royal Rumble ended up being a very good show despite a couple of disappointing moments and one or two strange booking decisions. Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins won the women's and men's Royal Rumble matches respectively and we're now officially on the road to WrestleMania.
A couple of matches already seem set for WrestleMania including Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar as well as Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch. However, we're still more than two months away from 'Mania and with two PPV's in-between, things could still change.
In this article, I take a look at the road to WrestleMania and take a look at what might happen. I just want to emphasize that these are just predictions and definitely not set in stone in any way.

#6 Andrade wins the WWE United States Championship
R-Truth won the WWE United States Championship from Shinsuke Nakamura on the WWE SmackDown Live following the Royal Rumble. I don't think that there's any chance that Truth continues to hold the title until WrestleMania and was only used as a vehicle to turn Rusev heel again.
If I had to make a guess, I see R-Truth losing the title in one of the PPV's on the road to Mania, possibly to Andrade. That could set up Rey Mysterio versus Andrade at the WrestleMania 35. Not only will that be an incredible match but WWE could up the stakes by making it a title vs mask match.
#5 Ronda Rousey shows more heel-ish tendencies
Ronda Rousey did not have a comfortable time on the RAW after the Royal Rumble. Fans in the arena chanted for Becky and totally put Ronda off her mic-game, forcing WWE to send Bayley out early to bail out a flustered Rousey. If this one is still a singles match at Mania (more on that later), I expect Rousey to show more heel-ish tendencies as we get closer to WrestleMania.
#4 The Miz turns on Shane McMahon
The Miz and Shane McMahon's title win at the Royal Rumble was one of the feel-good stories coming out of the PPV but don't hold your breath and expect this one to last too long.
The Co-Besties are bound to implode sooner or later and in my opinion, it will happen on the road to WrestleMania. There are a couple of PPVs before WrestleMania and I see Shane McMahon and The Miz losing their titles which will probably lead to The Miz blaming Shane for the loss.
This would, of course, lead to a heated argument after which The Miz would turn on Shane to set up a singles match between them at WrestleMania 35.
The Miz definitely needs to go over and that would set him up perfectly as one of the top heels on the blue brand post-Mania.
#3 Charlotte is added to Rousey vs Lynch
As of now, WWE fans are getting the match they really want to see at WrestleMania 35 - singles match between RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey and 'The Man' Becky Lynch.
However, in my opinion, WWE will pull off a classic WWE booking move to shoehorn former SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair into this match. Don't get me wrong, Charlotte is one of the most talented women to have ever set foot into a WWE ring but Rousey vs Lynch needs to be a singles match.
WWE already have another easy option for Charlotte Flair if they choose to go with it. Why not gives fans a rematch between Asuka and Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35? That gives WWE 2 marquee women's matches at WrestleMania 35 with 4 of the best women wrestlers in the world.
#2 Dean Ambrose vs Triple H is made official for WrestleMania 35
Is Dean Ambrose leaving the WWE? If you ask me, I'd have to say no although I think that he could do a great job outside WWE. This all looks to be a storyline to me at this point.
If Ambrose did tell WWE that he didn't want to sign a new contract on the day of the Royal Rumble itself, then why did WWE feature Dean Ambrose so prominently in the episode of RAW following the PPV.

If you ask me, it looks like WWE are doing their best to work fans based on real rumours of a departure for Ambrose.
After watching RAW, I think that this is all leading to a match at WrestleMania between Dean Ambrose and Triple H if their verbal jabs at each other on RAW are anything to go by. Ambrose is also the only member of The Shield that HHH hasn't faced one-on-one at WrestleMania.
#1 Sasha and Bayley win WWE Women's Tag-Team Championships
The first WWE Women's tag-Team Champions will be crowned at WWE Elimination Chamber later this month. A number of teams are already confirmed to enter the chamber vying to make history including Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan as well as Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.
However, if you ask me, there is one team who are the clear favourites to be the inaugural WWE Women's Tag-Team Champions - Sash Banks and Bayley. Both Sasha and Bayley are top women of the red brand and more importantly, respect and loved by the WWE Universe.
Having them win the WWE Women's Tag-Team Championship would help cement the new titles as important.
This could also lead to a dream title match at WrestleMania. What better match for the first WWE Women's tag titles at Mania than Sasha Banks and Bayley defending the titles against Trish Stratus and Lita.
