United States Champion Apollo Crews was scheduled to defend the title at Backlash 2020. To determine his next opponent, WWE booked a Triple Threat match between Superstars who he has been involved with recently - Kevin Owens, Andrade, and Angel Garza.

Kevin Owens would have been a fun choice as an opponent, but given last week's DQ finish between the two, it's clear that WWE intends to hold off the "actual match" between the two for later on.

Until then, it's Andrade who Apollo Crews will have to face at Backlash 2020. It's the man who he beat to win the title and we could see a scenario where Andrade cheats to win the title back from him.

It would be unfortunate for that to happen, however, as it would derail any momentum that Apollo Crews had since moving to RAW post-WrestleMania 36. He should ideally have a lengthy reign with the title, though it's hard to see that happening as the United States Championship gets passed around far too often.
