We are fast approaching one of WWE's biggest shows of the year, SummerSlam 2024. The upcoming PLE will feature six championship matches, with three top titles from RAW and SmackDown apiece. As of this writing, no tag team matches have been confirmed for the show.
Who will win and how? Here, we predict the result of each title match booked for WWE SummerSlam 2024. So, without further ado, let's begin.
#1 Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Solo Sikoa
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Cody Rhodes is set to put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam this weekend. This match will likely headline the show, as many expect it will see Roman Reigns make his long-awaited return. Although The Bloodline has a history of using illegal interference to win their matches, The American Nightmare may find a few of his friends in his corner.
We may see Cody Rhodes overcome all odds to retain his gold, especially when he did something similar, if not more when he dethroned Roman Reigns for the championship. Moreover, this win would finally allow Cody Rhodes to put his rivalry with The Bloodline to an end.
Prediction: Cody Rhodes retains the Undisputed WWE Championship
#2 World Heavyweight Championship: Damian Priest (c) vs. Gunther
Gunther won the King of the Ring tournament to earn his guaranteed title opportunity at SummerSlam and has challenged Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. The two have been involved in a brief yet intense feud on WWE RAW in the weeks leading up to SummerSlam.
This match could see Gunther defeat Damian Priest to win the World Heavyweight Championship, but Triple H may not book a clean finish. Instead, we could see Finn Balor betray the Archer of Infamy, which costs him his title to set up a massive feud on the red brand. This title change would also lead to an enormous championship defense when the promotion heads to Germany for Bash in Berlin later this month.
Prediction: Gunther beats Damian Priest to win the World Heavyweight Championship
#3 Women's World Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
If it isn't Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa, this match is perhaps most likely to headline SummerSlam this year. Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley have been involved in an intense personal feud on WWE RAW leading up to their championship match. However, revenge and romance have remained the center plot of their rivalry.
We could see Finn Balor reveal himself as the mastermind behind Liv Morgan's questionable closeness with Dominik Mysterio in Rhea Ripley's absence. The Prince may betray Rhea Ripley and cost her the championship opportunity to set up The Judgment Day's implosion. Although Dominik Mysterio publicly rejected Morgan on RAW, he could also pull off a shocking twist by helping Morgan retain her title.
Prediction: Liv Morgan beats Rhea Ripley to retain the Women's World Championship
#4 WWE Women's Championship: Bayley (c) vs Nia Jax
Like Gunther, Nia Jax won the Queen of the Ring tournament to earn her guaranteed title opportunity at SummerSlam. She is set to challenge Bayley for the WWE Women's Championship. The Irresistible Force undeniably poses a huge threat to the title, but she may not be the one to walk out of the show with the gold.
Instead, we may see Jax's close ally and Ms. Money in the Bank, Tiffany Stratton, make her presence known during this title match. The latter could pull off a shocking cash-in and steal a huge win at SummerSlam, courtesy of her MITB contract.
Prediction: Tiffany Stratton cashes in her Money in the Bank contract; beats Bayley and Nia Jax to win the WWE Women's Championship
#5 United States Championship: Logan Paul (c) vs. LA Knight
WWE fans have long wanted a massive title win for LA Knight on the main roster, considering his unmatched popularity as one of the top babyfaces on SmackDown. Although Logan Paul did everything possible to avoid Knight, the latter finally managed to pin the champion and earned his shot at the United States Championship at SummerSlam.
Paul has undoubtedly been impressive with his work as a top heel champion, but his title reign has been disappointing, mainly due to limited defenses. It is high time the United States championship is actively defended on SmackDown, and it could all start with the title changing hands when Knight challenges the Social Media Maverick.
Prediction: LA Knight beats Logan Paul to win the United States Championship
#6 Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Bron Breakker
Sami Zayn is set to put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Bron Breakker at SummerSlam 2024. The two superstars previously locked horns for the title at Money in the Bank in an intense showing. But Breakker may have prepared an unbreakable plan for the fighting champion when they meet next.
Bron Breakker ran a rampage through Monday Night RAW and bulldozed his way into the title picture. Triple H could plan for Breakker to pick up a statement victory by squashing Zayn for the title when the bell rings. We may see the challenger brutally attack Sami Zayn before the match to execute his perfect revenge, which would also see him pick up his maiden title on the main roster.
Prediction: Bron Breakker squashes Sami Zayn to win the Intercontinental Championship
