#4. Roman Reigns finished third in 2016
The 2016 event was when Roman Reigns was forced to defend his title in The Royal Rumble match. Due to his obsession with challenging the authority, Mr. McMahon made him enter the event at #1.
Early on in the match, he was assaulted by the League of the Nations (Sheamus, Rusev, Wade Barrett and Alberto Del Rio). He later returned to the match in what was a profound underdog story.

There was a swerve yet to be played, as Triple H would enter as the final participant in the match. The Game would proceed to eliminate both a battered Roman Reigns as well as Dean Ambrose to win the Rumble.
#3. Reigns was RKO'ed in Royal Rumble in 2017
The 2017 event featured future and current Hall of Famers such as The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Reigns himself and many more. The Big Dog entered the All-Star event at number 30.
He managed to eliminate 3 superstars during his time in the ring - Jericho, Wyatt, and The Undertaker.
For the third time in his career, he made it to the ultimate two. In an attempt to spear Randy Orton, Reigns was RKO'ed outta nowhere. The Apex Predator of WWE would go on to pick up the victory at Reigns' expense.
