Being the Chairman of the largest wrestling promotion in the world is tough, and Vince McMahon has shown for decades how one can lead a company in the right direction with the right skills. WWE has benefited for years from Vince McMahon’s vision, and we’ve seen him make changes to several aspects of wrestling and his Superstars to ensure that the fans get the best entertainment.
While Vince McMahon has asked his Superstars to do many things to change their characters or during storylines, some of his requests have been rather bizarre and unusual.
Over the years, McMahon has asked his Superstars to do several things such as change their wrestling attire, their character, the way they talk, and some of their moves.
However, in this article, we will look at the six most unusual things that Vince McMahon has asked WWE Superstars to do over the years.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#6 WWE Chairman Vince McMahon asked EC3 to speak like a weatherman
WWE is stacked with some of the best talkers in the industry. Superstars like The Rock, Chris Jericho, The Miz, and Kevin Owens made it over big thanks to their incredible mic-skills along with in-ring abilities. While it’s not unusual for Superstars to go overboard with their promos and be a little over the top, Vince McMahon wasn’t too fond of EC3’s way of speaking.
EC3 was a guest on Chris Jericho’s “Talk Is Jericho” podcast where he spoke about the time Vince McMahon had a meeting with him and made the unusual request of speaking like a weatherman.
“Yes, I did the four hour waits in the hallways. I had a couple of conversations with him. They were all very positive. He really said everything people say about him. He said, you look great. I know you can talk. You have a ton of charisma. You are a good worker but you’re not super flashy and that’s ok, because some of my top draws were never flashy guys. I’m like, ok, cool. Can I talk? He said, well I think you are a little over the top. I’m thinking, how many promos have you seen of me? One. I think they saw one and it was shot in my pool at the condo and it was fairly over the top. Regardless, you’re basing this on one promo. He said, why don’t you speak like a weatherman. Very monotone and one dimensional.”
There are several ways that Vince McMahon has changed his Superstars’ gimmicks and careers, but it’s unusual for him to ask one of his Superstars to be ‘monotone and one dimensional’ to get over.
#5 WWE Chairman Vince McMahon asked Rikishi to give him a Stinkface
Vince McMahon leads the largest wrestling promotion in the world, and to ensure that things go smoothly, he likes to get deep into the action himself. While it's not unusual for McMahon to take some finishers from his top Superstars, it is odd that he paid to get one particular move from Rikishi.
The Stinkface was Rikishi’s signature move that every opponent of his dreaded, but Vince McMahon wanted to experience the move and even paid the 400-pounder.
Speaking on the WINCLY podcast, Rikishi revealed that Mr. McMahon wanted him to give him the Stinkface on television. That’s not all, as Vince McMahon asked the Superstar to wash his backside before the move and also picked the thong for it.
"It was great because I got paid for it [laughs]. Vince McMahon is a wonderful dude and I don't have nothing bad to say about the man. He's set up his platform for wrestlers in the past, present and future and he's taken care of a lot of families," said Rikishi.
"Before we went out there he goes, 'Hey. I hope you washed your a** today.' I said just because it's called Stinkface doesn't mean my a** stinks,"
This was an unusual request that Vince McMahon made from one of his Superstars, and even though we’ve seen McMahon take numerous Stunners during his time, it’s odd that he wanted to be on the receiving end of a Stinkface.
#4 WWE Chairman Vince McMahon asked Droz to puke on command
We’ve seen several WWE Superstars having some of the most bizarre gimmicks on screen. While some Superstars came up with their own gimmicks, others were given their gimmicks by Vince McMahon.
One man who particularly impressed the WWE Chairman was Droz. It wasn’t just his ability to wrestle that impressed the WWE management, but it was one of his natural abilities that worked well with Vince McMahon. Droz, known as Puke during his initial days, had the natural ability to regurgitate on command, something McMahon wanted to see to believe for his entertainment.
During the documentary Beyond the Mat, the WWE Universe watched his meeting with Mr. McMahon where the Chairman asked the Superstar to puke into a trashcan in his office.
While many people might have this ability, Vince McMahon is one of the only individuals who’d request a man to regurgitate on command.
Droz’s special ability earned him a spot as an associate of the Legion of Doom, and he performed under the ring name Puke. While Droz may have had a bright future in WWE, the untimely injury ended his wrestling career and paralyzed him.
#3 WWE Chairman Vince McMahon asked The Miz to wear trunks
The Miz is one of the biggest Superstars in all of WWE today, and he is tirelessly working to help newer talent get a push in the company. The former WWE Champion has been asked to lay down and take the pin from several newer Superstars, but that’s not the only thing that he’s been asked to do by Vince McMahon.
As told by The Miz himself, Mr. McMahon is a big fan of the Superstar’s legs. In fact, Miz told ESPN.com's Jon Robinson back in 2009 that Vince McMahon asked him to stop wearing tights and opt for trunks instead.
"So I go out there, win my match, win my contract on Raw back, and I figure I'm going to go back to my shorts the next week. But walking back from the ring, Vince McMahon stops me and says, 'You look great in trunks, kid. You've got great legs. You should be wearing trunks.' I'm like, but I don't like the trunks. I want to look different. I want to stand out. And he said to me, 'You already stand out enough. Now we're going to make you serious.' I really didn't want to do it, but when Vince McMahon comes up to you and tells you that you have great legs and that you need to be wearing trunks, well, you're wearing trunks."
Even though Miz was against the idea, and did not like wearing trunks, he had to give in to the Chairman’s demands and start wearing trunks. Even today, we see The A-Lister make appearances in crisp suits but fight in the ring while wearing his signature trunks.
#2 WWE Chairman Vince McMahon asked the WWE locker room to fear The Boogeyman
The Boogeyman was one of the most bizarre characters in all of WWE during the 2000s. Even though he never won a Championship in WWE, he managed to leave a big mark on the company and is still making sporadic appearances for Vince McMahon's promotion. McMahon was big on Boogeyman’s character, and he went far enough to ask the entire WWE locker room to fear the man.
During an episode of The Ryback Show, The Boogeyman appeared to talk about his career and the time when Vince McMahon gathered the entire WWE locker room around the ring to tell them to fear him.
"I don't know if that was the case, but I kind of started taking notes of only guys wrestling me and getting fired. And if you recall, there was a production meeting one time and Vince McMahon gathered everybody around the ring and had me in the center of the ring. The first degree of The Boogeyman and the whole bit he said, 'You see that guy? You see that f---ing guy? God da--it, he eats worms for Christ's sake. Everybody on this roster better fear him! And Boogeyman, God da--it, I give you permission to make them fear you if they don't fear you! It was everybody in talent. They were around the ring and he's got Big Show, Taker, all the big names, Benoit. That was the list of people. So, I know Vince had big plans for The Boogeyman."
While it makes sense for Vince McMahon to have Superstars fear men like The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, it’s interesting to know that he asked the entire WWE roster to fear The Boogeyman instead.
#1 WWE Chairman Vince McMahon asked The Rock to Rock Bottom The British Bulldog on dog sh**
By now, you’d already have come across some rather strange and unusual things Vince McMahon has asked WWE Superstars to do in and out of the ring. However, this one is a little too bizarre. During the No Mercy 1999 episode of Something to Wrestle, Bruce Prichard and Conrad Thompson spoke about many topics, including the time on WWE RAW when The Rock Rock Bottomed The British Bulldog on a tray of dog poop.
Prichard revealed that Vince McMahon thinks there is nothing funnier than dog poop, and therefore he asked the Superstars to go for the spot.
He quotes Dave Meltzer’s writing saying:
“Rock put a platter of what was purportedly dog crap from bulldogs backstage that Mankind had scooped into a nice platter, brought it to the ring with Earl Hebner selling the smell big time. He gave Bulldog the Rock Bottom into the dog crap. Remember the remark Bret made in a column not long ago about a bulldog rolling around in s**t and being so stupid as to like it? Clearly that is where this idea came from.”
“There is nothing funnier than dog s**t. Dog s**t on a shoe and you gotta get a stick and get it off and it gets everywhere.”
We’ve seen King Corbin try to feed Roman Reigns dog food and several other bizarre things in WWE. Vince McMahon has been known to make his Superstars do many strange things to entertain the audience. However, this is one of the strangest things Vince McMahon has asked his Superstars to do as he has found it hilarious.
