Brock Lesnar has never been the kind of superstar who 'needed' a Money in the Bank victory. He's never won any Championship apart from the WWE title and the Universal title, but he's simply been 'too big' for a "secondary" Championship.

At Money in the Bank 2019, Sami Zayn was supposed to be one among eight Superstars in the match. He was attacked earlier in the show and the match proceeded with just seven members. Mustafa Ali was on the verge of winning the briefcase, even being on the top rung of the ladder. However, Brock Lesnar's music unexpectedly hit and he would go and take out Ali and stand atop the ladder as Mr. Money in the Bank 2019.

This began the small but hilarious "Boombox Lesnar" phase and he would cash in after the main event of Extreme Rules 2019 to become a 3-time Universal Champion. It was ultimately to set up the SummerSlam 2019 main event against Seth Rollins, but while the entire Money in the Bank 2019 match wasn't weird, the finish alone made it one of Brock Lesnar's weirdest matches of his career.
