6 Wrestlers you forgot competed in the Elimination Chamber

WWE Elimination Chamber countdown
WWE Elimination Chamber countdown

WWE Elimination Chamber was first held on November 17, 2002, in New York City at the Survivor Series 2002 event. Since then, it has been a fun event with the major wrestlers competing inside the cage for the title shot.

We all know the famous faces who participated and won the match. Major wrestlers in WWE, like Triple H, John Cena, and Edge have made a name for themselves by defeating their opponents inside of the chained-cage. There have been few wrestlers who were not so famous or were probably new when they competed in this event. We take a look at those wrestlers who have been forgotten by the majority of fans and viewers.

#6 Christian

Christian had a long stint at WWE, but it was only towards the tail end of his career (2014) he was given an opportunity to take a shot at the top prize. Cesaro, Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, John Cena, and Christian competed in No Escape 2014. It was an entertaining match with the interference by The Wyatt Family.

It is shameful WWE took so long to get behind him, and the match turned out to be fun even though he lost it in the chamber. This was the final PPV in-ring competition event before he retired after suffering a mild concussion.

#5 Vladimir Kozlov

Vladimir Kozlov, a Ukranian-American wrestler, was considered a dangerous powerhouse in WWE. They put him in the chamber alongside all the big guys like, Edge, Triple H, Jeff Hardy, Big Show, and The Undertaker.

Kozlov could not eliminate anyone. In fact, he was the first one to be eliminated when the Undertaker performed Last Rite on him. The No Way Out 2009 'WWE Championship' title was ultimately won by Triple H.

#4 Jack Swagger

Jack Swagger is a wrestler and MMA artist, who was given a chance to fight in the Elimination Chamber after he aligned himself with Zeb Coulter to form the Real Americans. The No Escape 2013 match involved Mark Henry, Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho, Kane, and Swagger. In the end, he defeated Orton to get a 'World Heavyweight Championship' title shot against Alberto Del Rio.

In the epic WrestleMania showdown, Del Rio made Swagger tap out to the Cross Armbreaker.

#3 MVP

Montel Vontavious Porter, aka MVP, participated in the strangest hotchpotch of wrestlers ever put together in an Elimination Chamber. He competed with Batista, The Undertaker, The Great Khali, Finley, and Big Daddy V for a chance to be a challenger for the 'World Heavyweight Championship' at WrestleManiaXXIV in 2008.

Both SmackDown and ECW names competed in one match, which was quite strange to begin with. Also, no one besides Batista and The Undertaker was worthy enough to be a contender for the show’s top championship. The Undertaker won the match by delivering a Tombstone piledriver on Batista. In the WrestleManiaXXIV, Edge was forced to submit, making The Undertaker win the title again.

#2 Kevin Nash

Kevin Nash participated in the second Elimination Chamber match in 2003. Chris Jericho, Kevin Nash, Goldberg, Randy Orton, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels featured in this highly publicized match. It was crazy to see how heavily loaded WWE’s roster was in 2003.

This was the time when Nash had made his return to WWE and was given a chance at the title shot. He was the first one to be eliminated by Michaels and Jericho. The match turned out to be a gruelling contest which was won by Triple H.

#1 Goldberg

Everyone knows Goldberg's first stint in WWE was forgettable and short, so it makes complete sense if the fans have forgotten he participated in the Elimination Chamber in 2003. For those who recall all the way back to 2003, it was a huge affair for a former WCW star debuting in WWE to be competing in this match. It was a one-sided affair when Triple H hit him with the sledgehammer and covered him for submission.

After the match, Orton, Triple H, and Flair savagely attacked Goldberg, which ended with Triple H beating Goldberg by constantly hitting him with his sledgehammer.
