Randy Orton has favored the RKO as his finisher for almost two decades since becoming a star in WWE. When The Viper became known as The Legend Killer, he decided to change up his move-set a little.
The Legend Killer's Punt Kick sidelined many legends and was used once again just last year on the likes of Christian and Ric Flair when Orton returned to his Legend Killer ways.
The Punt Kick was a move that was banned for a while in WWE given it could lead to severe head injuries of delivered wrong. That didn't stop it from becoming one of the company's most effective finishers.
Randy Orton opts to use the RKO whenever necessary to end a match since the RKO can be hit from anywhere in the ring. When The Viper does decide to pull out The Punt Kick, it's clear that the match is over.
