#1 AJ Styles

It's not a big surprise that whenever a 'dream opponent' pops up for any big-time star, the name of AJ Styles also comes up. He's one of the biggest stars in all of professional wrestling and has only increased his star power with his run in the WWE.
Because he was in TNA/Impact for the majority of his career, his path never crossed with Edge, with respect to a match between the two Superstars. Edge retired in 2011 while Styles was still a part of TNA. He joined the WWE in 2016 and has had a face to face with Edge in the ring before. But other than that, the two men have not had the honor of facing each other.
Even though he's over 40, Styles represents the best in the game currently. Edge is 46 but hasn't had wear and tear on his body for the last eight years. Styles is currently a heel and that would be an easy way to write a feud for the two men. Edge would obviously be the face due to his status as a Legend. The O.C. is also a group of bullies so it could give two younger stars a rub if they joined forces with Edge prior to a potential match at the Show of Shows.
Simply put, both men are among the biggest stars of their generations and could feasibly still face each other should Edge get medical clearance. Styles is a great worker and would help Edge to a safe match, should they face off. He'd probably lose to Edge, but Styles is like Bryan in that he's willing to put others over (Owens, Baron Corbin, Lesnar, Bryan). Not many older stars are.
