WWE WrestleMania 41 will air live this April from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is the company's biggest show of the year and will likely feature several marquee match-ups.
Several stars on the roster could be thinking about retiring from the ring and may select The Show of Shows as the perfect time to have their final match. John Cena will be competing at his final WrestleMania this year before he retires from the ring at the end of 2025.
Listed below are six WWE stars who could retire at WrestleMania 41 later this year:
#6. WWE legend Rey Mysterio could retire at WrestleMania 41
Rey Mysterio was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2023 but remains an active star on RAW. The legend is currently the leader of the Latino World Order on the red brand.
Mysterio has had a remarkable career as a professional wrestler and may be considering hanging up his wrestling boots soon. The veteran recently suggested a retirement match against his son, The Judgment Day's Dominik Mysterio, and the two stars could square off at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
#5. Roman Reigns could call it a career after WrestleMania this year
Roman Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa in the Tribal Combat Match this past Monday night on WWE RAW. Solo Sikoa had named himself the new Tribal Chief after Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. However, he stated that he would acknowledge Reigns as his Tribal Chief if he lost at the red brand's massive premiere on Netflix.
On this past Friday's episode of SmackDown, Paul Heyman announced that The Head of the Table would be entering the Men's Royal Rumble Match, and informed Cody Rhodes that Reigns would be coming after the title as well.
Reigns could potentially win the Royal Rumble, only to come up short against Rhodes once again at WrestleMania 41. The heartbreaking defeat may cause the OTC to step away after realizing he cannot return to the glory days he once oversaw.
#4. The Rock may decide to retire at The Show of Shows
The Rock appeared following the Tribal Combat Match between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa this past Monday night on RAW's debut episode on Netflix. The Great One placed the Ula Falla around Reigns' neck and showed the former champion respect.
It was an interesting appearance by The Final Boss, as the last time he was on WWE television at Bad Blood 2024, he portrayed displeasure towards both Reigns and Rhodes, seemingly for teaming up. The Rock could be planning on betraying Reigns in the weeks ahead, leading to a dream match at WrestleMania 41. If Reigns defeats him, The People's Champion could retire following the event and serve as an authority figure in the promotion moving forward.
#3. AJ Lee could return for a retirement match at WWE WrestleMania
AJ Lee remains incredibly popular despite not wrestling a match in a decade. She is married to CM Punk in real life, who made his triumphant return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 after he was fired by All Elite Wrestling.
Lee has interests outside of wrestling and has been successful during her time away from the ring. However, fans have been wanting to see the 37-year-old return to the squared circle for a long time. She could finally decide the time was right at WrestleMania 41 this year, and return for a retirement match for the company.
#2. Natalya may retire from in-ring competition following WrestleMania 41
Natalya signed a contract with WWE in 2007 and has been with the promotion for 17 years now. The veteran is a former SmackDown Women's Champion and won the Women's Tag Team Championships alongside Tamina as well.
The 42-year-old recently competed in the tournament on RAW to determine the inaugural Women's Intercontinental Champion but was eliminated in the first round. Natalya could be planning on stepping away from the ring soon, and the company may book her in a retirement match at WrestleMania 41 in April.
#1. AJ Styles may return for a retirement match on The Grandest Stage of Them All
AJ Styles is regarded as one of the best professional wrestlers on the planet but has not been seen on WWE television lately. The Phenomenal One suffered a major injury during his singles match against Carmelo Hayes on the October 4, 2024, edition of SmackDown and has not returned to action since.
Styles could potentially return during the Men's Royal Rumble Match on February 1 and begin a rivalry with a major star. The former champion would then have a storyline leading into WrestleMania 41 and may decide to wrap up his legendary career in the ring following the bout.
