#1: Hideo Itami
Originally appearing as KENTA, Hideo Itami was one of NXT’s big five signings, joining alongside stars including Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn and Neville.
But unlike the other four, the former NJPW star has become one of the company’s, and Triple H’s, biggest ever flops.
When he debuted, Itami was expected to become a huge star, with many assuming an NXT Championship run was guaranteed.
Sadly, a series of injuries derailed all momentum he had, and the WWE quickly stopped caring about him. Itami was written off TV after being attacked backstage in order to recover from an injury. Fans are still waiting for the attacker to be revealed.
Now gone from the company, Itami seems to be doing much better elsewhere, as his career in the WWE ended not with a bang but the quietest of whimpers.
Are there any other signings by Triple H that didn't pan out like WWE would have hoped? Let us know in the comments section.
