Rusev is one man who is really frustrated with WWE. He was on the cusp of becoming the top heel in WWE until he lost to John Cena at WrestleMania and then had his wings cut out from under him, with WWE clearly not ready to go that extra mile and create a new top heel.

Since then, Rusev has been floating in and out of pushes and his engagement to Lana which became public during a storyline along with Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae garnered them intense heat backstage.

Even with how popular Rusev Day got last year, WWE didn't pull the trigger on Rusev. Although he eventually won the WWE United States Championship, he dropped it to Shinsuke Nakamura shortly afterward and turned back heel, cutting all the babyface momentum he'd built.

It won't be a surprise if Rusev and Lana are the next WWE Superstars to ask for their release.

Rusev spoke about his frustrations with WWE on Lilian Garcia's podcast:

“I do all these things but nothing changes. I’m trying to catch Vince’s eye. We pitch, we talk and it never comes to anything.”
