The bizarre name contradicts the booking he's been receiving

Shorty Gable, or Shorty G as he's now called, has been gaining some momentum since the King of the Ring tournament. He was a runner-up and did get a win over Baron Corbin later on, but overall, he's been on an upward rise.

Weirdly enough, after changing his name to Shorty G, he's been pushed and protected more than he ever was as a singles star for the last two years or so. It's interesting and many fans are hopeful that he gets his just due because he is, by far, one of the most underrated in-ring performers on the roster.

Not just that, but he's got his character work cut out as well. He's a good underdog to get behind and he's got the ability to develop a character that crowds can get invested in. It depends on how he takes the opportunities given to him and hopefully, he gets a sustained push.

With that said, he's still at risk of losing that push at any moment because all it takes is for WWE to neglect his storylines and put him on the sidelines for him to go back to where he started.
