Before 2019, if you were to ask any fan which superstar WWE missed the boat with the most in recent times, you'd find that a vast majority would say, Bray Wyatt. As The Eater Of Worlds, he was a fascinating character who managed to hook fans to his persona and his eerie promo work.
It was clear that he was a level above the rest and it didn't even matter that he wasn't the most prolific in-ring worker. Everything about him screamed "Superstar", and for years, WWE always used him as a jobber to bigger stars.
It was missed opportunity after missed opportunity and that was none more so exemplified in 2017 when he had all the momentum in the world, won the WWE Championship and then lost it in less than two months to Randy Orton - a Superstar who didn't need the win by any means.
This time around, things are very different. WWE seems far more committed to The Fiend and his persona has taken a whole new level and direction. He's now the Universal Champion, but just as all has been done to restore his status, it could all go away in the blink of an eye with terrible booking.
