#1 Stacy Keibler- WWE RAW 2005
Randy Orton's early career shot to the moon thanks to a feud with legendary WWE Superstar The Undertaker. Throughout 2005, the Legend Killer made it his goal to kill The Deadman. His first step to that goal was a match with Taker at WWE WrestleMania 21.
Prior to that feud, Orton had been in an on-screen relationship with Stacy Keibler. The two young lovebirds were a gorgeous couple, as the pre-Viper Orton and the beautiful Keibler seemed like a perfect pairing. Unfortunately for Stacy, she wound up as a pawn for Orton, who needed to send a message to WWE's Phenom.
Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?
Orton needed to prove that he was ruthless, that he was willing to do whatever it took to bring down the man who appeared undefeatable at The Grandest Stage of Them All. What's the best way to do that? Show up on SmackDown and catch him off-guard? Check. Rundown a list of his accolades in his then-young career? Check.
Drop his girlfriend with an RKO and turn into the most despicable heel on Monday Night RAW? Double Check.
Just after planting a kiss on the former WWE Diva, he planted her face-first into the mat with an RKO that caught everyone in the audience completely off-guard. It was only a kiss, how could it end up like this?
...sorry.
If you weren't watching WWE around this time, this was before he became the sadistic punting maniac that we know and fear today, so don't give the fans of 2005 too much grief for thinking he wasn't about to betray his girlfriend. I mean, yeah he RKO'd Fabulous Moolah by this point, but she was also put through tables by The Dudleys and more on several occasions. This was when shades of The Viper first appeared.
