Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson were signed to WWE in early 2016 when they were one of the hottest free agents in the world of wrestling. They aligned with AJ Styles for a few months during his feuds against Roman Reigns and John Cena, but the brand split meant that Gallows & Anderson would stay on RAW while Styles was the second Superstar drafted to SmackDown (and the fourth overall pick).

At the time, The New Day were reigning strong as Tag Team Champions, closing in on a full year with the titles. It was the reign where they ended up surpassing Demolition's incredible 478-day reign as Champions. Many felt that Gallows & Anderson were the perfect Superstars to dethrone The New Day, but fans were frustrated when The New Day kept picking up victories over them.

"The Old Day" segment is one that's best forgotten about and perhaps sums up why WWE will want you to forget about that tag team rivalry altogether.
