John Cena went from a somewhat juvenile gimmick of being a foul mouthed wrapper to being the 'face that runs the place,' the white bread do gooder kiddie hero that never gave up, and never surrendered.

Cena was the man for his era, matching the Nature Boy Ric Flair's legendary sixteen world title reigns. Though some segments of the WWE Universe never truly embraced him, Cena remained one of the top merchandise sellers in WWE history until Roman Reigns came along. Now gravitating away from wrestling and toward a full time Hollywood career, John Cena still finds time to pop up on WWE programming now and again.

Adam Cole, a man widely praised for his technical wrestling, ironically made his debut for the insane Combat Zone Wrestling promotion. Other CZW alums include Dean Ambrose, and the action during one of their shows often involves legitimate injury to the performers.

Fortunately, Cole would join the Ring of Honor promotion, where he worked his way up the ranks from tag team champion to world champion. Cole has also been a star in the New Japan promotion as a member of Bullet Club.

These two have never faced each other, and it would be a great past vs. future bout. But could it happen?
