#1 Vince McMahon steps down as Chairman of WWE (because of XFL)
The news that Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff have been appointed as Executive Directors of Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live respectively is actually quite a big and memorable behind-the-scenes moment for WWE. But is it potentially hinting at one of the biggest moments of all?
There's certainly no denying that Vince McMahon has a dilemma on his hands when his American Football league XFL starts building momentum and getting off of the ground because the businessman will want to devote as much of his time as possible to ensure it succeeds.
But, what if chess pieces are being moved around, like in NXT with Triple H amassing a team of people around him, to ensure that WWE will be able to cope without the micromanagement of Vince McMahon. And then, if WWE can cope without McMahon making every decision, how long will it take until it doesn't need him to make any?
The day a McMahon doesn't sit at the top of WWE will be a memorable day indeed....
(Okay, I know that Stephanie McMahon, Shane McMahon and Triple H are McMahon's and most likely to take over, but you know what I mean, don't take my sign-off line away from me.)
