A match with John Cena could get his career back on the right path

WWE needs to figure out something to do with this guy soon or ship him back to NXT until they can. Crews looked really good in his IC Title match with The Miz recently on SmackDown Live. He didn't play an underdog, necessarily, and that's very important. He's a strong man with insane agility and ability.
In 2017, WWE creative should insist on showcasing his strength, speed and dazzling moves the same way they did when he first came to NXT. Give him some local enhancement talent to work against and let him get in all of his impressive stuff, and you'll have a guy that the crowd wants to see.

Later on in the year, maybe even after a run with the IC Title, he should cross paths with Cena. The two men have the potential to put together a really enjoyable match, and it would, even in defeat, be good for Apollo's resume.
You know what I'd like to see? Crews turning heel and getting cocky because he knows how good he is. Team him up with a like-minded individual, Tony Nese, and they would make a great tag team.

I got my first big break writing for 411Mania back in 2004. I did a small spot in a big weekly piece that was written by one of the site's top writers. I quickly added the duty of being the live recapper for episodes of SmackDown, and in 2005 was given my own weekly column, which I did for a few years. I gave up writing (mostly) to start a family but got back into it, still at 411, a little over 3 years later. For another couple of years, I wrote 2-3 columns per week for the website before finding paid work elsewhere, and eventually wound up at SportsKeeda.
I am also the co-founder of the RBR: Weekly Wrestling Talk podcast, which started in the summer of 2005 and is still going strong today, almost 15 years later. Due to school, work, and family commitments, I left the team in 2011 but still remain a part of the family.
