#4 No filler matches at Takeover like the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal has been underwhelming thus far during its brief existence

On paper, we love the idea of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. After all, it seems like a great way to honor one of the most beloved performers in the history of sports entertainment, a man whose heart was the biggest thing of all about him.

Andre's fame spread beyond the wrestling ring with appearances on film and television, most notably the 1980s classic romantic comedy, The Princess Bride. Giving a special match to honor his memory is a great idea. Since Andre was known for competing in a lot of battle royals, we're not even upset with the format.

However, there are no clear stakes in the battle royal other than a trophy. Many of the past winners, like Mojo Rawley, have become mere afterthoughts on WWE programming. The match amounts to filler meant to give more wrestlers a WrestleMania moment. You won't find filler matches on the NXT Takeover card.
