7 reasons why WWE must part ways with Brock Lesnar after WrestleMania 34

This dream run must stop.
This dream run must stop.

Brock Lesnar is now the WWE Universal Champion for almost a year. He will celebrate his Championship anniversary at WrestleMania 34 with the man who wins the men’s Elimination Chamber match this Sunday.

However, there are concrete reasons why WWE must part ways with the “Beast” in the near future.

#1 Raw- A flagship show without a flag bearer

The show is expected to cruise without its captain!
A picture is worth a thousand words.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

The WWE Universe deserves to have a Champion who puts up a show every Monday night, much like the show on Tuesday nights. Raw has been shuffling their main event for both Monday nights and PPVs with various superstars because the face of the show is nowhere to be found on the show.

Unlike the present scenario, there was always a Superstar who would run this flagship show. The list goes with the likes of The Rock, Stone Cold, Triple H, John Cena, CM Punk and many more. A jam-packed schedule or a beaten up body, no matter what, these Superstars would turn up for the fans.

However, WWE has given the part-time contract to Lesnar (not to mention the Championship) which leaves the fans in a limbo.

#2 A slap in face to other Superstars

Lesnar has never competed in an Elimination Chamber match!
Lesnar has never competed in an Elimination Chamber match!

This Sunday seven men will compete to determine who will face Brock Lesnar at the “Show of Shows”. It’s worth pointing out that the maximum stretch Brock Lesnar has gone to is to compete in a Triple Threat match for his championship, not to mention the exceedingly short matches he had with Goldberg.

Correct me if I am wrong, but when I talk about any legitimate champion, I can recall the countless times the man who showed up with his broken body and fought against the odds to either become or to retain the championship. That’s what brings respect for a performer.

Undoubtedly, Brock Lesnar is hands down one of the top performers in WWE. But since his return, fans have to bet their luck every single time whether he would show up.

#3 A viciously wrong trend

Will Ronda also perform limited days per year?
Will Ronda also perform only limited days per year?

Earlier wrestlers would put their body on the line night-in and night-out to be the face of the company. A face they would dream to become so they would have the spotlight every time the show goes on.

Now with the kind of contract Lesnar has, the most coveted prize might become to gain a part-time contract with WWE (with a full-time pay) which binds them to work only a couple of days in a year.

With all due respect to the “baddest women on the planet”, the contract with Ronda Rousey might just be an extension of a similar kind.

#4 Is he bigger than the business?

Has Brock made Vince chew on his own words?
Has Brock made Vince chew on his own words?

Strike up a conversation with a wrestling fan about Raw. You will end up discussing names like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, the Miz, Finn Balor, etc. Because everyone knows Lesnar is “too big” to perform for WWE every night.

Vince McMahon has quoted on numerous occasions that no one is bigger than the business. Then why is Brock Lesnar the sole exception?

I understand the exceptional intensity Brock Lesnar brings to the table, but WWE was still blowing off the arena’s roofs worldwide when he wasn’t around from 2003 to 2012. And since his return, he has competed in only about a one-third of the PPVs in the span of eight years.

#5 Was this the vision to end the undefeated Streak?

WWE Universe was shocked as Lesnar broke the Streak.
The WWE Universe was shocked as Lesnar broke the Streak.

Everyone is vying to be the man who can go toe-to-toe with Brock Lesnar. He has mythically become bigger than the WWE Championship itself.

The last thing which had such significance was The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak, which arguably became bigger than the WWE Championship. But it took twenty-one years to build it.

I dare say that the hype around Lesnar is a cheap imitation of the Undertaker's Streak, and is mythically created by not having Lesnar around to compete.

The last man who had such an aura was The Undertaker when he was the holy-grail to compete with in the squared circle. With Lesnar, it’s more like who will get the chance when he decides to show up!

#6 WWE has fed The Beast their entire roster

This was Summerslam 2014.
This was Summerslam 2014.

WWE loves to float around that Brock Lesnar started the “Suplex City” with John Cena as its first citizen. Indeed, Summerslam 2014 was the most one-sided affair for the WWE Championship.

However, WWE fails to acknowledge the Night of Champions 2014, a PPV which took place a month later, where John Cena almost made Brock Lesnar submit but Lesnar somehow managed to escape (thanks to Seth Rollins).

Since then, every Superstar is lined up one by one against 'The Beast', and 'The Beast' would slay him. Only Roman Reigns is the exception to it. It’s no secret what would probably be the main event for WrestleMania this year.

But it ain’t a secret as well how WWE fans feel about Roman Reigns, tune up to fans reaction on Raw just in case it still is a secret to you.

#7 Enough being the voice of the Champion

We want to see the wrestler, not his advocate.
We want to see the wrestler, not his advocate.

Last but not the least; this indeed is the truth of the hour.

Over the past one year, we have listened over dozens of time when Paul Heyman states his marquee line, “Ladies and Gentlemen, your reigning, defending Universal Champion, Brrrock Lesnarrr!”

Quite frankly, where is the Champion?

We have seen Paul Heyman much more than Brock Lesnar. Actually, so much that now we hear people in live shows shouting Heyman’s lines even before he speaks.

Check out the bonus next.

Bonus: His behavior

A shot right on the temple.
A shot right on the temple.

At Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar punched Braun Strowman right in his face as Lesnar asked him to slow down. Had it been someone else other than Strowman (God, he is strong) it might have caused a serious injury.

Jericho confronted Lesnar backstage for this.
Jericho confronted Lesnar backstage for this.

Summerslam 2016 was a similar feat when Brock Lesnar squared off against the returning Randy Orton. The ending of the match was (and still is) debatable to be on or off the script when Lesnar attacked Orton bare-knuckled causing the latter to receive ten staples to close the laceration on his forehead.

Overall, it seems that having Brock Lesnar off the roster should be on the table for WWE think tank after WrestleMania 34 unless Lesnar decides to be on a full time contract.
