#4 The King of The Ring and Queen's Crown tournament take an unexpected turn on RAW
After RAW, the King Of The Ring and Queen's Crown tournament finals have been set. The King Of The Ring tournament has traditionally been won by heels. The superstars who benefited the most in WWE history from winning the tournament have been villains. Not that babyfaces haven't won it, but we'll be seeing a fresh King of the Ring winner in 2021.
This was guaranteed after Xavier Woods defeated Jinder Mahal to qualify. We were admittedly taken by surprise, assuming that this would be the passage to Mahal's next singles push.
If anything, this is WWE subtly telling us that the Modern Day Maharaja's will have to wait for some more time. So will it be King Balor or King Woods? Both men would serve to benefit.
Since Finn Balor has had his "Prince" character for a long time, it would make sense to elevate him as King Balor. On the other hand, Xavier Woods can become the first and only New Day member to win the tournament. Since Woods is unlikely to be a world champion in the future, this would be a big singles accomplishment.
With that said, it doesn't feel like Xavier Woods winning would accomplish much in the long run. Perhaps this is why it's a tournament won more by heels.
As for the Queen's Crown tournament, Shayna Baszler faced Doudrop in the Semifinals. Doudrop picked up the big upset win over Shayna Baszler and will face Zelina Vega in the finals at Crown Jewel - where she will be a heavy favorite to become WWE's first Queen's Crown winner.
