Cody Rhodes has a long and arduous future ahead of him on SmackDown. Now focused on his fallout with Kevin Owens, it's safe to say The American Nightmare will have his hands full till the end of 2024. But, what of 2025? Could he be faced with a challenge from a seven-time WWE champion who plans on quitting Monday Night RAW?

There is a good chance that the answer to that query could be in the affirmative. Drew McIntyre has faced challenges on RAW, especially after not achieving success in his battles with CM Punk. As a result, the Scottish Warrior might be seeking a new environment and SmackDown could offer him the change he desires.

Given that Cody Rhodes currently has to focus on handling the issue with Kevin Owens, it may not be the best moment to make a change. But things could look different by 2025. Feeling dissatisfied with his lack of achievements and chances for advancement on the red brand, Drew McIntyre might decide to switch to the blue brand and seek to compete for the prestigious Undisputed WWE Championship, possibly at the Royal Rumble event.

A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.

He certainly would be a worthy opponent for Cody Rhodes. But, at this point, this is nothing more than speculation. We will just have to wait and see how things unfold in the coming months.

Cody Rhodes must first vanquish The Ring General, Gunther

Before he can look towards the Royal Rumble or for that matter, his problems with Kevin Owens, Cody Rhodes must first focus on Crown Jewel. It is there, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia that he will take on Gunther for the right to be crowned the WWE Crown Jewel Champion. And it's safe to say, it won't be easy.

The Ring General has earned the top spot as World Heavyweight Champion through his intelligence, strength, and tenacity. All these qualities will be on full display when he steps into the ring with The American Nightmare. He will be going for gold, and Rhodes would do well to be wary.

That being said, there are still a few weeks between now and Crown Jewel. A lot can happen, and a lot can change. Either way, the battle for the championship will be one to savor.
