Cody Rhodes' rivalry with The Bloodline has resumed on Friday Night SmackDown. The American Nightmare, along with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens, will take on The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa in a six-man tag team match at Money in the Bank 2024.
While the WWE Universe wants the babyfaces to win, there is a significant chance that The Bloodline will secure the victory. If the heel faction emerges victorious, Rhodes' storyline with Solo Sikoa will only grow during The Rock and Roman Reigns' absence. After the victory, if The Bloodline continues to maul the babyfaces, Bobby Lashley could return with The Street Profits to save Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens.
This is because the 7-time champion Lashley is being considered as Jacob Fatu's first rivalry and Fatu can be expected to be present at Money in the Bank to help The Bloodline. Hence, the return of The All Mighty at Money in the Bank to take down Jacob Fatu and the others can be used to initiate the rivalry.
Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?
Additionally, The Street Profits returning with Bobby Lashley to help the babyfaces would resume their rivalry with The Bloodline. Two members of The Bloodline can be set up for a tag team match against The Street Profits while Jacob Fatu battles Bobby Lashley.
Former WWE writer points out problem with Cody Rhodes and other babyfaces
Currently, the fans are loving the babyfaces of WWE. Whether it's Jey Uso's YEET movement or Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton's theme songs, or chanting along with Seth Rollins' music, the babyfaces are all the hype in the company right now.
However, WWE's former head writer Vince Russo pointed out that even though the fans are singing along, which is great, none of the current babyfaces are on the same level as the greats such The Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin.
"Bro, you're gonna sit there and you're gonna put Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, and Seth Rollins next to Austin, the Rock, Taker, Mick Foley, and DX? I'm sorry but they're not in the same league."
The American Nightmare is supposed to resume his rivalry with The Rock once the latter returns, with a potential match being planned for WrestleMania 41.
