#2 Asuka
2018 was a year of contrasts for Asuka. Charlotte Flair broke her undefeated streak at WrestleMania 34 and has a hard to watch feud with Carmella battling for the Smackdown Women’s Championship unsuccessfully because of James Ellsworth’s interferences.
However, not everything went wrong for the Japanese empress: the year started incredibly well for her as she won the first ever women Royal Rumble match after eliminating Nikki Bella in a breathtaking match. Moreover, she won the first women tables, ladders and chairs match at TLC when she defeated Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in one of the best matches of the year with some “help” from Ronda Rousey and finally winning the Smackdown Women’s Championship.
The Empress of Tomorrow is the only woman to ever win both main events she was part of, at the Royal Rumble and TLC PPVs. Curiously, she won the first and the last pay-per-view main events of 2018.
