#5 The Ascension
You might be one of many readers who chuckles at this pick, but I challenge you to consider this tag team based on what they were able to accomplish prior to making their main roster debut.
While in NXT, The Ascension became one of the best tag teams the company has ever had in their developmental system. Back in 2013, Konnor and Viktor captured the NXT Tag Team Championships. Winning the titles alone was not the impressive feat, it was the fact that they held the titles for a brand record 364 consecutive days before finally dropping the titles in a loss to The Lucha Dragons at NXT Takeover: Fatal 4-Way. This is a record that still stands in the NXT record books.
Since arriving on the main roster, The Ascension has had an extremely difficult time running from accusations that they were trying to mimic the legendary Road Warriors. Needless to say, these guys have had a hell of a time just trying to gain acceptance from the WWE Universe, despite their in-ring abilities.
Hopefully, someone with creative pull will recognise the raw talent, experience, and maturity that these guys possess and give them the opportunity to content at the top of the tag team division, where they truly deserve.
