7 WWE Superstars who could return in 2020

2020 could see some massive returns!
2020 could see some massive returns!

#2 Cain Velasquez

In one of the most surprising moments of this year, Cain Velasquez made his debut in WWE to take on arch UFC nemesis, Brock Lesnar. Unfortunately, his WWE Championship encounter against the Beast Incarnate led to an embarrassing loss for the former UFC Heavyweight Champion.

With him signing a contract with WWE, it would be interesting to see what does the company plan to do with him. In all likeliness, Cain will make his return to WWE programming next year. Whether that is a grudge match against Lesnar or as a surprise entrant at the Royal Rumble, Vince would want to sensibly use one of his biggest signings of 2019.

#1 CM Punk

The Voice of the Voiceless!

Let's address the elephant in the room, shall we? After leaving the company on a very bad note in 2014, CM Punk made his grand return to the business last month, albeit in a different role as he joined WWE Backstage as an analyst.

While Punk mentioned that he works for FOX and not WWE, the Best in the World (not you, Shane) didn't entirely deny the possibility of an in-ring return. According to him, before he would potentially get back in a wrestling ring, there would need to be some bridges that needed to be rebuilt. But at the same time, he said, he knows enough not to say no.

In one of my previous articles, I've discussed five ways in which he can make his in-ring return. With Seth Rollins being very outspoken about a match with him, it does look like WWE is keen to bring back the former WWE Champion. Whatever be the case, if Punk does make his in-ring return, it's sure to blow the roof off any and every possible arena in the world. Vince McMahon, we want to be sports entertained!
