Stone Cold Steve Austin was undeniably the poster boy of WWF/E in the Attitude Era. His popularity reached sky-high, and he had numerous awe-inspiring opponents in his career. Steve Austin is the only three-time Royal Rumble match winner in WWE history.

Steve Austin won his first Royal Rumble match in 1997, but the victory came controversially. Austin faced Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 13 but unfortunately, he lost the match.

Austin won two consecutive Royal Rumble matches, as he was the winner in 1998. Austin locked horns with Shawn Michaels and won the WWF World Heavyweight title after beating Shawm Michaels at Wrestlemania 16.

Subsequently, Austin won his third Royal Rumble in 2001 when he last eliminated Kane. He headlined WrestleMania 17 where he defeated The Rock to win his fifth WWF title.
