#3 Samoa Joe Leads His Rivalry with AJ Style by a Whopping 8-1 in Singles Competition
For the WWE Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe
WWE has been very sly and subtle about the history between fierce foes AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. This is of course to avoid any mention of their past in Impact Wrestling, even though the company no longer poses a threat to the WWE juggernaut. Yet the little sliver we've gotten as fans is enough.

After all, the historic rivalry between the two men is widely known. They were once the pillars of Impact Wrestling and its exciting X-Division roster. Along with the likes of Christopher Daniels, they created history. The two men are so synonymous with each other that they will remain forever foes no matter how little WWE may regard this.
Despite Styles' bigger profile in the wrestling world, especially once he surpassed his more popular partner from during his ROH days, it is Samoa Joe who actually carries the greater weight in their rivalry, having won a grand eight out of eleven televised singles contests. Including recently a DQ win at Summerslam. Two of which were draws, leaving Styles with a measly one victory that too by cheating
This isn't even counting the countless indie matches the two have fought where Joe's record increases four times to sixteen victories in 22 bouts with the two draws. Including house shows, the two men have fought in singles matches over 70 times. Talk about a rivalry!
This will carry great importance as the two collide for the twelfth time in their lives at a televised eve. Though none of it holds as much psychological impact as a simple "Hey Wendy" by Samoa Joe.
