Shawn and Marty's IC Title match was PWI's match of 1993.

In 1992, Marty Jannetty was fired from WWE, after rumors that he was unconscious backstage due to substance abuse problems.

To this day, Jannetty has denied the rumor, saying he was just asleep, and claims the rumor was started by former Tag-partner Shawn Michaels.

To make amends, the WWE rehired him, and had Shawn lose his Intercontinental title to him.

However, Jannetty quickly left after real problems, and though he returned in 2006, but left after a shocking message from Marty's Facebook, which he claims was due to hackers.
