The World Heavyweight Championship was a professional wrestling world heavyweight championship in WWE and was one of the most prestigious titles in the history of WWE. Towards the end of 2013, the World Heavyweight Championship was unified with the WWE Championship, resulting in the retiring of the former, and the renaming of the latter to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
