#1 Eddie Guerrero

The late great Eddie Guerrero became a fan favourite during the Ruthless Aggression Era and was one of the breakout stars of the time. His early run in WWE was hot and cold, but Eddie finally started to gather steam in 2003 and was part of a United States Championship tournament. He met Chris Benoit in the final at Vengeance 2003 and with a little help from Rhyno, managed to beat Benoit to win the United States Championship.
On the September 18th episode of SmackDown, Eddie and his nephew Chavo Guerrero challenged and beat the World’s Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas) to win the WWE World Tag-Team Champions, adding Eddie to the list of Superstars who have held two title belts at the same time in WWE.

However, Eddie was only a double champion for around a month, losing the United States Championship to the Big Show at No Mercy in October. Things got worse 4 days later on SmackDown, where Los Guerreros lost the WWE World Tag-Team Championships to the Basham Brothers. The feud with the Bashams was what led to Chavo turning on his uncle later that year.
Eddie Guerrero later went on to win the WWE championship in 2004 against Brock Lesner, cementing his position as a main-eventer in the company.
