A nine-time champion could return to WWE after 224 days. Becky Lynch could make her comeback on the first episode of RAW on Netflix, which is set to air on January 6, 2025. The speculation arose after she showed up at a WWE media event alongside top names like Triple H, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes at the Netflix headquarters on December 3, 2024.
Lynch has been absent from WWE programming since May 27, 2024, when she lost to Liv Morgan. Dominik Mysterio interfered in the Women's World Title match by slamming the cage door on The Man's head, allowing Morgan to secure the victory.
Lynch's absence sparked a debate among fans, especially after her deal with WWE ended in June 2024. There has been no clear communication from either The Man or WWE about her contract status. This has led many to question whether she will re-sign with the organization.
Recently, Liv Morgan name-dropped Lynch on the red brand. Later, Big Time Becks added fuel to rumors of her return during her appearance at the 2024 Vulture Festival. The former Women's Champion hinted that she had some unfinished business in the company, and she wouldn’t go down with a cage door slammed in her head.
The Stamford-based promotion hasn't confirmed whether she would appear on the January 6 episode of RAW. However, her presence at the media event suggests a surprise comeback could be coming soon. If Lynch makes her return on RAW's Netflix premiere, it would mark the end of her 224-day hiatus and lead to the beginning of some exciting storylines heading into Royal Rumble 2025.
Even if her return isn’t right around the corner, Becky Lynch is widely expected to re-sign with the company at some point. She is a seven-time Women's Champion, a former NXT Women's Champion, and a one-time Women's Tag Team Champion. She might come back soon to add more accolades to her impressive resume.
Becky Lynch recently shut down WWE retirement rumors
Liv Morgan claimed she had "retired" Becky Lynch following their heated Steel Cage Match on May 27, 2024.
The Miracle Kid's statement led many to wonder whether The Man had actually retired from WWE. Lynch recently weighed in on the situation, dismissing the notion that her in-ring career was over.
“I’ve been working on some other stuff I can’t really talk about. But if you think that the way I’m going to go out after the career that I’ve had is with Dominik Mysterio slamming a door in my face, that’s probably not going to happen. But when will that come back? I don’t know. I’ve really been enjoying myself and working on some projects that I’m very excited about.”
Right now, Lynch's pro wrestling future is still uncertain. However, her abovementioned comments have given some hope to fans. It will be interesting to see what happens when RAW moves to Netflix next year.
