The Undisputed Era debuted in NXT with three members (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly) in August 2017, while Roderick Strong was added to the faction in April 2018.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Cole mentioned that CM Punk has had a “huge influence” on his career, but he would not consider adding the WWE Backstage analyst as the fifth member of his popular NXT group.
“The Undisputed Era, the four that we are, couldn’t get any better. We’re the flag-bearers of the NXT brand, and we are perfect the way we are. I wouldn’t add a male, I wouldn’t add a female, and we won’t add CM Punk.”
Cole was among the guests on WWE Backstage when Renee Young surprisingly introduced Punk on the show for the first time.

The NXT Champion also mentioned during the interview that he was unaware that the former MMA fighter was going to make an appearance.
What’s next for Adam Cole?
Adam Cole defeated Daniel Bryan on SmackDown and faced Seth Rollins on RAW as NXT invaded its rival brands on multiple occasions ahead of Survivor Series.
The Undisputed Era member retained his NXT Championship against Pete Dunne at Survivor Series, and it now looks as though Tommaso Ciampa will challenge for the title next after he pinned Cole at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.
