Seth Rollins was so close to winning the World Heavyweight Championship against Damian Priest at WWE Money in the Bank. A mistake by the match official during the closing stages, along with Drew McIntyre's MITB cash-in meant that Rollins was not able to get the job done.
With SummerSlam just over two weeks away, it is still uncertain what's in store for The Visionary for the major event in Cleveland, Ohio. Here are four things Seth Rollins can do on the upcoming episode of Monday Night RAW.
#4. Interrupt Damian Priest and Gunther
Damian Priest will be defending his World Heavyweight Championship against the 2024 King of the Ring, Gunther at SummerSlam. They are set to have a face-to-face segment on the upcoming episode of WWE RAW.
Seth Rollins could interrupt this segment and send a warning to both Priest and Gunther. He could declare that he will be waiting for the winner of their match after SummerSlam for a shot at the title.
#3. Blockbuster Triple Threat Match for SummerSlam
General Manager Adam Pearce has lifted Drew McIntyre's suspension and has invited him to the upcoming episode of RAW. The agenda of their talk would be about the possibility of making Drew's personal rivalry with CM Punk culminate in a match at SummerSlam.
There is a chance that Seth Rollins could confront Pearce and Drew, stating that both CM Punk and Drew McIntyre were responsible for costing him the title match at Money in the Bank. He could ask Pearce to make the singles match between McIntyre and Punk into a triple threat with him involved, with the winner becoming the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.
#2. Special role at SummerSlam
With Seth Rollins out of the world title picture, it is still not certain what WWE has planned for him at SummerSlam. However, there might be an interesting option.
Rollins could announce that he will be the special guest referee for the match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. Given the animosity between all three men, this could produce some of the best segments leading into the much-anticipated match.
#1. Shocking heel turn on WWE RAW
WWE has been teasing a potential match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre for SummerSlam. All signs indicate that Punk would most likely be medically cleared for in-ring action.
Although Punk has been asked by Adam Pearce to stay at home for the upcoming episode of RAW, there is a possibility that he will show up and declare that he has been cleared to compete.
Seth Rollins could confront him and shockingly attack The Second City Saint, signaling a heel turn. This would be Rollins fulfilling his promise from last week that he would come after Punk once he is cleared.
This could start a major build for Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk which could take place at some of the major PLEs down the line like Royal Rumble or WrestleMania 41.
