At SummerSlam 2024 Drew McIntyre registered a victory over CM Punk. While Punk had his moments in the match, he seemed too focused on recovering his bracelet from McIntyre, which eventually cost him the bout. However, despite losing, it does not seem like the rivalry between the two is over.
As a matter of fact, the WWE Universe could witness Drew McIntyre and CM Punk face each other again at Bash in Berlin. To make things exciting, the rematch between the duo could be more than just a singles match, and after this week's RAW, General Manager Adam Pearce could book a Strap match.
For those unaware, CM Punk has already competed in this stipulation earlier in his career. In 2009, Punk faced late WWE Superstar Umaga in a Strap match at Extreme Rules. At the time, this bout between the duo received a great response.
Hence, it won't be surprising to see WWE try and book the same match again. If CM Punk and Drew McIntyre end up competing in a strap match at Bash in Berlin, it will be interesting to see who takes the win.
A victory for Punk could set up a potential rubber match at the Bad Blood Premium Live Event.
Former WWE employee says major title needs to be around Drew McIntyre's waist
Drew McIntyre has not had the best fate with the World Heavyweight Championship. While McIntyre lost the title to a cash-in from Damian Priest at WrestleMania 40, CM Punk later ensured the Scotsman had an unsuccessful cash-in at Money in the Bank 2024.
However, a former WWE employee believes the title must be around Drew McIntyre's waist. During an episode of Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word, Tom Carlucci who spent over 30 years with the Stamford-based promotion also predicted how long Gunther's reign would last.
"That title needs to be around Drew. And I hope it's sooner than later. But you could be right, he could have it for three months," he said. [From 06:56 to 07:03]

Once McIntyre's rivalry with CM Punk comes to an end, there is a chance he could go after Gunther or Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship. The Ring General is set to defend his title against Orton at Bash in Berlin later this month.
The Scottish Warrior has aimed at winning the World Heavyweight Championship on multiple occasions, and going up against The Ring General or The Viper and potentially winning the title would be a dream come true for him.
