At WWE Crown Jewel, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton were booked to face each other in what was a grudge match. While both men arrived in Saudi Arabia and landed blows on each other, the truth is that the match never actually began because they started brawling before the bell could ring.

This brawl, however, was not an ordinary one, as Owens and Orton did their best to inflict as much damage as they could on one another. However, in doing so, The Prizefighter and The Viper broke several rules, and so did Triple H, who possibly made a major mistake booking this segment.

In this article, we will take a look at four rules Kevin Owens and Randy Orton broke at WWE Crown Jewel:

#4. Randy Orton RKOed a GM at Crown Jewel

Randy Orton delivering an RKO to authority figures in WWE is not an alien sighting. While he has done the same on many occasions in the past, no one imagined The Viper would do what he did at Crown Jewel. In the premium live event held in Saudi Arabia, Orton delivered an RKO to RAW General Manager Adam Pearce.

This moment took place in front of SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, who was once RKOed by Orton. At that time, the 14-time World Champion had to pay a fine. It will be interesting to see what punishment he has to face for hitting a General Manager of another brand this time.

It's also worth noting that backstage figures Jamie Noble and Shawn Daivari were also attacked in this segment. While Noble was attacked by Owens, Daivari was attacked by Orton.

#3. Stunned a referee

Since the very beginning of WWE, many referees have often found themselves on the wrong side of a wrestler's wrath. At WWE Crown Jewel, this is exactly what happened when Kevin Owens ended up delivering a Stunner to referee Eddie Orengo.

This stunner was delivered to the referee by Owens after he tried to stop the Candian from attacking Randy Orton with a chair before the match could begin. While it's common to see a referee get hurt, it's still a serious rule that was broken in the premium live event held in Saudi Arabia.

#2. Did not let the match begin

Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton was one of the most-awaited matches at Crown Jewel because of the intense rivalry between the two former friends. However, when it mattered the most, Orton and Owens did not allow the bout to officially begin and started brawling with each other.

Not only was this disappointing as there was no winner, but not letting a match begin is, in a way, equal to breaking a rule. Because, after all, the majority of the WWE Universe was looking forward to the bout, and by not allowing it to happen, it was not just disappointing for the crowd but also for the ones who booked the clash.

#1. Triple H potentially losing two superstars

While the advertised action-packed match between Kevin Owens and Randy Orton at Crown Jewel did not begin, the brawl they had was very action-packed. As a matter of fact, this brawl puts both superstars, especially Orton, at serious risk of suffering a potential injury.

By booking this bout, Triple H had risked losing two of his major superstars on SmackDown. In the time to come, The Game will think about whether it was worth booking this clash, given he had to personally book the match, superseding the powers of a GM.
