Big E made his WWE return nearly two and a half years after his serious neck injury (March 11, 2022) and reunited with The New Day, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods on the faction's 10-year anniversary. However, things didn't go as planned for the former WWE Champion.
Woods and Kingston had a heel turn and turned on their former friend, taking shots at him during their in-ring segment and eventually betraying him.
With Kofi and Xavier parting ways with Big E, The New Day, at least in its current format, is over, with the former WWE Champion considering his next step. With that in mind, we take a look at three directions for him after Monday's segment.
#3. He could replace Adam Pearce as the RAW GM
Top WWE star blasted, compared to Winnie the Pooh RIGHT HERE
Adam Pearce has been dealing with many issues on Monday Night RAW, both in the ring and backstage. Fans and WWE Superstars have accused him of losing control of the show.
WWE has not teased any replacement plans for Adam Pearce, but with Big E now back, he could get an executive role, especially if he is not medically cleared to compete yet. He could also continue his feud with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
#2. He could dethrone Bron Breakker and become the new Intercontinental Champion
Bron Breakker has done a great job as a heel since moving to the main roster in late April and the WWE Draft. He quickly emerged as a top star, and seven months later, he has already become a two-time Intercontinental Champion.
Seeking his next opponent, he will face Ludwig Kaiser for the title either on RAW or the next Premium Live Event, Saturday Night's Main Event (December 14).
If Big E is medically cleared to compete and make his return to the ring after three years, he could go after Bron Breakker in a battle between two completely different on-screen characters since Bron is a top heel, while the former New Day star has been one of the top faces in WWE.
#1. Big E could challenge Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods at the Royal Rumble
The 10th anniversary of The New Day stunned the WWE Universe following Big E's exit from the faction and his betrayal from Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Kingston and Woods harshly criticized their former mate and called him out for his behavior during his recovery from injury, eventually kicking him out of the faction.
If he is medically cleared to compete, Big E should seek revenge on The New Day in early 2025. He could show up and cost Woods and Kingston one of their future matches, no matter if the Tag Team Titles will be on the line or not.
The former WWE Champion could then challenge his former partners to a match. The 2025 Royal Rumble in Indianapolis on February 1 would be the ideal place for such a clash, which would officially mark the end of The New Day in its current format.
