One of the biggest bouts at WWE SummerSlam 2024 will see CM Punk take on Drew McIntyre in a massive grudge match. This much-awaited contest will feature Seth Rollins as the Special Guest Referee and the three superstars are set to meet for a massive segment on RAW next week.
Last week, Adam Pearce announced that McIntyre and Punk could not engage in an altercation before their match. The red brand's general manager stated that whoever threw the first punch would be suspended, and their match would be called off. Drew McIntyre humiliated CM Punk on WWE RAW last week, and the latter is evidently keen on getting the upper hand.
Here, we look at three surprising things Punk can do when he meets Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins on RAW before SummerSlam. So, without further ado, let's begin.
#1. CM Punk lays hands on Drew McIntyre
Adam Pearce confirmed on WWE RAW last week that CM Punk is medically cleared to compete. The Best in the World will be eager to give fans a taste of what's to come at SummerSlam, and it could lead to him making a huge mistake on RAW next week.
Drew McIntyre has done a notoriously good job in riling up Punk by often taking personal shots at his rival in unthinkable ways. The Scottish Warrior could succeed in pushing Punk to the point where he lays hands on him, forcing Adam Pearce to cancel their match at SummerSlam.
#2. CM Punk attacks Seth Rollins before SummerSlam
It would be too bold of a move for WWE to cancel Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk at the upcoming premium live event unless the decision is motivated by medical reasons. Considering the brutal build-up in the feud between Punk and McIntyre, it is unlikely that the former would jeopardize his shot at getting his hands on The Scottish Warrior.
However, Seth Rollins' insertion into their storyline could allow The Architect to pivot the rivalry. We may see Punk attack Rollins on RAW before SummerSlam. The Visionary is set to share "referee's instructions" with Punk and McIntye before officiating their match. While CM Punk may not attack McIntyre, nothing could prohibit him from squaring off with Rollins should he redirect his frustrations.
#3. CM Punk steals Drew McIntyre's sword on WWE RAW
A few weeks ago, Drew McIntyre brutally attacked CM Punk in Chicago and took his bracelet that had his wife's and dog's names on it. The Scottish Warrior has used the said bracelet to provoke The Best in the World and even paraded it as a gloried possession on RAW last week.
Punk could hit back at McIntyre by bringing the latter's beloved sword; Angela, named after the latter's mother. This would make things highly personal for The Scottish Warrior, who already believes he is on the right side of the story. This may provoke McIntyre enough to be the first to throw hands and get suspended once again.
