Chris Jericho vs 'Hangman' Adam Page (to crown the first AEW World Champion)

Adam Page used his size and strength to his advantage from the moment the bell rang, going straight after Chris Jericho. He caught Jericho in midair and hit him with a Fallaway Slam. Page then chased Jericho around the ring and back inside where Jericho caught Page with a boot before launch himself with a missile dropkick.
Jericho then went for an early Lion Tamer but Page pushed Jericho out of the ring. He followed it with a suicide dive, sending Jericho crashing into the barricade on impact.
Jericho, using his experience, finally got the upper hand. He skirted close to the edge of the rules as he pounded Page at ringside. Jericho rolled Page back into the ring and nonchalantly booted the Hangman. Page leapt to his feet and hit Jericho with a couple of chops but his offense didn't last long. Jericho started targetting Page's right knee, trying to ground his younger opponent.
Page tried to chop his way back into the match once again but Jericho caught him with another dropkick.
Page finally managed to string together some offense, starting with a Fallaway Slam. He then hit a Russian Legsweep from the middle rope. Jericho locked in a Lion Tamer briefly following this but Page powered out and hit a Discus Elbow Strike. It looked like Page caught Jericho in the eye here. We later saw that Jericho was busted open above the left eye.
With Jericho disorientated, this was the opening Page had been looking for. He hit a swinging neckbreaker for the nearfall but Jericho wouldn't stay down - at least until Page hit him with another Discus Elbow.
Jericho fought like a cornered animal but Page was firmly on top at this point. The legend went for a springboard dropkick but Page caught him with a superkick. He then followed up with the Buckshot Lariat. Jericho locked in the Lion Tamer out of nowhere.
Page reached the ropes, forcing Jericho to break the hold. The Hangman then dumped Jericho out of the ring and hit a moonsault from the top rope. He went for another Buckshot Lariat after this but Jericho countered it with a Codebreaker for another nearfall. Page used his strength to finally nail Jericho with the Dead Eye but it couldn't keep the veteran down for the 3-count. Jericho nailed Page with a Judas Effect out of nowhere to win the match. Chris Jericho is our first AEW World Champion.
