It was necessary for Kenny Omega to be on commentary this week on AEW Dynamite to tell the story that will eventually lead to Hangman Page vs. Kenny Omega. It's just that Kenny Omega's way of speaking does not naturally lend itself to commentary in the same manner as Chris Jericho or even someone like Samoa Joe on WWE RAW. Yes, Kenny Omega is an artist in the AEW Dynamite ring, and there wasn't anything terrible about his commentary on AEW Dynamite this week, but it's just not his strong suit.
Hangman Page and Frankie Kazarian had the match of the night on AEW Dynamite and to be quite honest, Kenny Omega's commentary was almost a distraction.
But that said, if this means that we will soon get to see Kenny Omega in a singles environment, mixing it up with top talent as he did in NJPW, it is certainly a step in the right direction from AEW.
