There are those in AEW like say, The Young Bucks and even Kenny Omega, who like to tell stories with how they compete in the ring from the opening bell to the closing bell. There are others still Cody Rhodes and MJF who still belong to the old school, I suppose. In a lot of ways, Chris Jericho is also a part of the very same category.
It has been said time and time again that every ticket is sold before the bell rings in professional wrestling. Rhodes likes for there to be a storyline heading into every match so that the crowd is invested from the very start. He also likes to tell stories on the microphone, much like MJF does.
