Next up was the AEW Women's Championship match. Hikaru Shida defended her title against Penelope Ford at AEW Fyter Fest

Fyter Fest AEW Women's Championship: Hikaru Shida (C) vs Penelope Ford

Hikaru Shida started off with a running knee strike. She immediately went for the Falcon Arrow but Ford managed to reverse it and then she avoided Shida's knee strike, sending her into the corner.

The match briefly spilled out ot ringside where Shida placed Ford on the apron and hit a knee lift.

Back in the ring, Ford dodged Shida's running strike and caught her with a boot to the head. Ford then locked in a hammerlock followed by knees to the lower back. Ford was in control at this point and did what she could to wear the AEW Women's champion down.

Shida was soon back in her feet and slapped Ford across the face. She followed it up with a couple of knee strikes and then an enziguiri. Ford replied with a pump kick of her own.

Shida replied with a modified sleeper and then a back breaker. The champ then hit Ford with the Falcon Arrow and then went for the cover. Ford somehow rolled Shida up for a nearfall.

The champ headed to the top rope but missed with the missile dropkick and Ford replied with a Stunner for another nearfall.

Ford headed to the top rope and went for a moonsault. Shida rolled away and then hit another Falcon Arrow. Ford kicked out again and Shida followed it up with a running knee strike to finally put away the challenger at Fyter Fest.
