AJ Styles will return to WWE SmackDown next week (October 4), and fans are intrigued to see what he has in store. The last time he appeared on WWE TV was at Clash at the Castle: Scotland, where he lost an I Quit match against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The Phenomenal One was a dastardly heel during his last run but could turn babyface next Friday. Rhodes needs friends at the moment amid tension with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens over his teaming with Roman Reigns. He may have found one in his former rival.
AJ Styles could return on WWE SmackDown and tell Rhodes he has his back amid The Bloodline issues he's encountering. He'll be on call if the American Nightmare and Reigns' alignment ends in disaster.
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
Cody Rhodes' decision to accept the former two-time WWE Champion's offer of reconciliation will only irk RKO and KO further. They made it clear that they disapprove of their friend teaming up with Reigns to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood.
This could lead to Rhodes needing to decide who he can call friends and put him under pressure regarding his character being questioned. The Viper and The Prizefighter are viewing him as somewhat of a pushover, and he risks their friendship.
However, the champion and Styles share a lot of history, and it's not all bad blood. They are both former members of NJPW's Bullet Club faction, as well.
AJ Styles deserves one last main event run on WWE SmackDown
AJ Styles has been one of the most popular stars in WWE since debuting at the Royal Rumble in 2016. He's won seven titles in the promotion, including the WWE Championship and Intercontinental Championship.
The 47-year-old has been helping the younger generation with his years of experience. His feud with Cody Rhodes earlier this year reminded fans just how entertaining he can be.
There should be one last world title run in Styles' path before he eventually decides to call time on his legendary career. He's been one of the most reliable workers in WWE over the past decade and deserves recognition.
AJ Styles' rivalry and matches with John Cena are perhaps the height of his time in the Stamford-based promotion. They could lock horns one last time next year when the Cenation Leader goes on his retirement tour.
