The road to WrestleMania 19 saw Brock Lesnar setting his sights on Kurt Angle's WWE Championship, after winning the 2003 Royal Rumble match. This was a match that many had been anticipating for a while, with both Lesnar and Angle having amateur wrestling backgrounds.
At WrestleMania 19, Lesnar defeated Angle in the main event. A botched Shooting Star Press resulted in Lesnar almost breaking his neck, and putting the main event in jeopardy. Thankfully, Lesnar managed to finish the match and the two Superstars embraced to end the historic show.
Angle was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017, and he wrestled his retirement match at WrestleMania 35 against King Corbin. Angle currently works as a backstage producer in WWE. Angle recently talked about taking the role of a producer, in an interview with BT Sport.
It’s good, I enjoy working with the talent, helping them structure their matches and giving feedback on the show. So it’s fun for what it is. For me, it’s challenging trying to help the talent put on the best matches they can, so it’s a very important part of the show.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
