
André the Giant (birth name: André René Roussimoff) was a professional wrestler from France. He was born on May 19, 1946, in Coulommiers, France. Known as The Eighth Wonder of the World, André the Giant is a former world champion and WWF (now WWE) Tag Team Champion. He had several memorable moments in his career, including being bodyslammed by Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 3 during their title match. He worked in many motion pictures besides being successful in the wrestling ring. André died in Paris at 46 because of congestive heart failure in 1993.
