Several WWE Superstars have been blighted by injuries this year, which has been problematic for the Stamford-based promotion. Seth Rollins and Rhea Ripley have recently returned after missing several months due to injuries. Tyler Bate is the latest member of the WWE roster who is sidelined.
Fightful Select reports that Tyler Bate's injury will likely result in him missing the rest of 2024. The former two-time NXT Tag Team Champion and inaugural NXT UK Champion is out with a torn pectoral muscle.
Tyler Bate, 27, suffered the injury on the July 2 edition of NXT and is set for months on the sidelines. He was teaming with Pete Dunne as a member of the New Catch Republic before sustaining his injury. The Big Strong Boi confirmed his injury with a post on his Instagram account.
"Tore my left pectoral major & tendon off the bone last week at NXT. Surgery yesterday was successful and all has been put back where it belongs. I’ll be gone for some time while I recover, try not to miss me too much. I’m in good spirits and looking forward to seeing you all again soon, lots of love, b i g s t r o n g b o i ❤️," he wrote.
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
It's a frustrating setback for Tyler Bate, as he made his main roster debut six months ago on WWE SmackDown. New Catch Republic was drafted for the red brand, where they competed in its tag team division.
Bate joined the Stamford-based company in December 2016 as a member of the now-defunct NXT UK. He became the brand's inaugural champion by defeating Pete Dunne. He's since been a member of the NXT brand and is now on the main roster.
Pete Dunne turned heel on WWE RAW amid Tyler Bate's long-term absence
Pete Dunne will be without Tyler Bate for what looks to be the rest of 2024. The Bruiserweight seems likely to enter singles competition and will do so as a heel.
The 30-year-old former WWE NXT UK Champion attacked his former Brawling Brutes member Sheamus last night on WWE RAW. It was surprising that the Celtic Warrior had helped him fight off Bronson Reed the previous week.
Pete Dunne is yet to flourish on the main roster as a singles star, having initially been handed the 'Butch' gimmick. This was similar to a Peaky Blinders character, and he rarely spoke during its time on TV.
The Brawling Brutes disbanded last November, paving the way for Dunne to start his singles career. Instead, he reverted to his Bruiswerweight gimmick and teamed with Tyler Bate, whom he knew from NXT UK and the British independent scene.
