Backstage Report: Pro wrestling NOAH duo signed?, WWE superstar out for months

WWE signed “The Mighty Don’t Kneel” in a bid to bolster the Tag Team Division

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has offered a contract to Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste. They are known as “The Mighty Don’t Kneel”.

The report comes weeks after they were at a WWE tryout and impressed one and all at the Performance Center in Orlando. The two are just waiting for visa paperwork to process and medical testing to be done. These deals usually take several weeks after decisions are made but Nicholls and Haste, who is suffering from a knee injury, should be signed soon.

Haste and Nicholls are both from Perth, Australia and have been with Pro Wrestling NOAH since 2011. They have had great success for the company, as they are two-time GHC Tag Team Champions.

The duo have even made appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling, too. This deal would stack NXT even further, given the amount of talent that’s being called up or is hurt. Plus, it's heartening to see WWE building up the Tag Team Division.

We noted that Erick Rowan suffered some sort of injury on June 19th in the live event match with Cesaro. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter now reports that it is a case of torn biceps and he will be out of action for four months but if he chooses to undergo surgery, he will be out longer than that.
